Marie-Ange Somdah is a poet, bilingual writer, novelist, educator and professor from Burkina Faso, based in Boston. The author of Seeds & Deep Seasons (1997), first printed by Mellen Press, he has published several books in English and French, including children’s books Rêves de Savane (2002), The Dream of Little Awa (2013) and Le Rêve de la petite Awa (2013). Trained in Burkina Faso (Université Joseph Ki-Zerbo), France (Université de Franche Comté) and the USA (Boston University School of Education and Harvard University Extension), he has taught at various universities in the US and Africa. As part of his commitment to volunteering, he has provided free writing workshops for students and communities in various settings. He has edited and published Pen & Dreams from My Students (2013), a collection of works by his students. Marie-Ange Somdah is currently designing new curricula for African private universities, and helping build new ones.
