Welded connections are connections whose components are joined together primarily by welds. Welds can be classified according to Types of welds: groove, fillet, plug, and slot welds.
There are two types of eccentrically loaded llet weld. They are in-plane and out-of-plane eccentricity. The main difference between them is in in-plane eccentricity the weld is free to deform along its length and the stress distribution is not effected by bearing between plates
